According to Microsoft’s recent announcement regarding enhancements to their MS Dynamics NAV software, the Redmond giant is positioning this platform to make “MS Dynamics NAV 2016 the ERP cornerstone of its cloud offering.”
Aside from its bevy of features to improve workflow, document management and OCR, to name a few, the platform will is designed to be more user-friendly with easier implementation.
At its core, the software is geared more toward native applications, thereby deriving more benefit from mobile platforms.
“The native app may be stored on the mobile device out of the box, or it can be downloaded from a public or private app store and installed on the mobile device. Data associated with the native app is also stored on the device, although data can be stored remotely and accessed by the native app. Depending on the nature of the native app, Internet connectivity may not be required.” TechTarget
Ahead of the fall announcement on the full features offered by Dynamics Nav 2016, MIcrosoft’s cloud-ready software is expected to provide:
- Power BI (business intelligence) will integrate with an upgraded Office 365
- MS Dynamics NAV 2016 is designed to work “natively” with CRM Online
- A bundle of e-Everything: electronic invoices, OCR, plus third party capabilities to add their data sources
- Better usability in Windows for desktops, tablets and the “Now” phone
